NOTICE

STUDENT FINANCIAL LOAN DEFAULT

Applicants who are in default on the repayment of any loan guaranteed by the Governor’s special commission on education services:

State law [LSA-R.S. 17:3023 (A)(8) and LSA-R.S. 37:2941 (A) and (E)] makes the default in the repayment of loans guaranteed by the Commission grounds for the denial of the application for, or the application for renewal of, a professional license/certificate. IF YOU ARE IN DEFAULT OF REPAYMENT of such a loan, your application will be denied pending a determination and report by the Special Commission concerning compliance with the repayment requirements of your loan.

If you have any questions concerning the repayment status of your loan, do not contact the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Please direct all inquiries to the Office of Student Financial Assistance, 1885 Wooddale Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806, or call (225) 922-1086, or toll free 1-800-256-6882.

If your application is denied because of a default in repayment of your loan, you should contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance to determine your rights, including your rights to a hearing under the Administrative Procedures Act, which will be provided to you by that agency.

If your application otherwise meets the criteria for licensure under the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Practice Act your application will be processed upon the Board’s receipt of notice from the Office of Student Financial Assistance of your compliance with the repayment requirements of the loan.
