NOTICE
STUDENT
FINANCIAL LOAN DEFAULT
Applicants who are in default on the repayment of any
loan guaranteed by the Governor’s special commission on education
services:
State law [LSA-R.S. 17:3023 (A)(8) and LSA-R.S. 37:2941
(A) and (E)] makes the default in the repayment of loans guaranteed by the
Commission grounds for the denial of the application for, or the
application for renewal of, a professional license/certificate. IF YOU
ARE IN DEFAULT OF REPAYMENT of such a loan, your application will
be denied pending a determination and report by the Special Commission
concerning compliance with the repayment requirements of your loan.
If you have any questions concerning the repayment
status of your loan, do not contact the Louisiana Board of
Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Please direct all
inquiries to the Office of Student Financial Assistance, 1885 Wooddale
Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806, or call (225) 922-1086, or toll
free 1-800-256-6882.
If your application is denied because of a default in
repayment of your loan, you should contact the Office of Student Financial
Assistance to determine your rights, including your rights to a hearing
under the Administrative Procedures Act, which will be provided to you by
that agency.
If your application otherwise meets the criteria for
licensure under the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Practice Act
your application will be processed upon the Board’s receipt of notice from
the Office of Student Financial Assistance of your compliance with the
repayment requirements of the loan.
